Singpore Airlines (SIA) flies to 90 cities in 40 different countries. Part of the Star Alliance groups of airlines with (among others) United Airlines, Lufthansa, and SAS. Wikipedia's page on Singapore Airlines lists 50 subsidiaries and alliances; including SilkAir, a pilot school, and extensive aircraft repair and maintainance facilities. SIA also owns 49% of Virgin Atlantic Airways and 49% of the low cost airline Tiger Airways. The Singapore government owns 57% of SIA through a company called Temasek Holdings.
