• The more links you have to other pages in Yellowikis the more chance there is that people will find you on Yellowikis.
• The more links you have in Yellowikis the more likely it is that the Google ranking spider will find your company. If you have no links out of your Yellowikis page Google won't index you - you only get found by having links.
• It's also important to remember that you get to define who you think your competitors are. This doesn't have to be your direct competitors - it could be an indirect one. So, for example, Joe Bloggs Computers can put Apple and Dell down as competitors, when a more traditional view might state that Joe Bloggs' main competitor is in fact John Doe Computers.

So if Joe Bloggs Computers is reluctant to put down John Doe Computers as a competitor, for fear that customers will click straight through and compare prices, then it's in the company's best interest to add Apple and Dell instead. Because if Joe Bloggs Computers doesn't add competitors, there's always the chance that John Doe Computers will.
